Knowledge Sharing
Knowledge sharing occurs on a daily basis with community members, partner organizations, and within our team. We work from a place of understanding that knowledge sharing can be a mutually beneficial experience. We also recognize every person has valuable lived experience and knowledge to offer and are often the best equipped to make the most informed decisions for themselves, their animals, and their family.
Knowledge Sharing is also 1 of 4 strategic objectives in our 2024-2027 Strategic Plan!
We offer presentations to our partner Nations, First Nation bands, community organizations and businesses, at conferences, or other public events on a variety of topics:
- Dog bite prevention
- Humane education
- Pet First Aid
- Overview of our organization’s work
- Dog health and population management strategies and solutions.
- Centering Partnerships
Knowledge sharing within our organization involves on-going internal educational opportunities for our board and volunteers. Some examples of this include:
- Treaty Learning and Indigenous Worldview workshops
- Conference attendance
- Leadership training
- Governance and Operational workshops
Event attendance
We enjoy attending Treaty Days, powwows, or other events in our partner Nations to meet community members and share knowledge with one another!
We also attend events outside of our partner Nations such as pet expos and conference tradeshows to share information about our programs and learn more about other organizations.
If you are interested in our team attending or presenting at an event, please contact us!
